Seriously, a Great Day.

We have had a great day.

This was in the middle of lunch.
PBandJ's make me happy too.
They just visited and gabbed and laughed the whole lunch period.
It's the small things.

I really try to encourage independence.
They have to basically do everything on their own,
or at least try.
They are required to take their own plate and cup to the sink,
Wipe their own faces,
put on their own coats, socks and shoes.
It's not that I care to help them if they need it,
but that is part of getting "big".
Life being a bit easier for us adults is just a plus!

Another thing that we have been working really hard on is
solving problems between themselves.
My rule is that they should talk and use their words if there
is an argument. If someone does something to you that you don't
like? Ask them to please stop. If they don't, then come tell me.
This is something I remind them of everyday, several times a day,
but I see LOTS of improvement!

I love this sunshine today!
Could use a bit warmer temperature,
but I will not complain.

Life is so good.

Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness
will find life, righteousness and honor.

Mm.

This week, we are learning about the letter M!

Today, we talked about money.
I passed different coins and dollar bills
around so they could feel it and look at them.
Then we did some coin rubbings.
Those were a bit difficult,
but they got the hang of it.

Cadyn even brought some cool "M" books to share!
Thanks, Cadyn!

The next few pictures are from the last 2 days.
I love taking pictures with my new camera.
and I have to say, these kids are so stinkin' cute.
I just can't help it!
Some serious cuteness going on here:

On another note,
I can't believe this basketball season is coming to an end!
My kiddos have had a great run this year.
I am so proud of their hard work and dedication to the game.
Plus, they are pretty cute, too.
If I do say so myself.

Here is a little picture of the fam at
Rhett's 13th Birthday dinner.
He LOVES Las Cazuelas.
I believe it is a new tradition.
He is just about to outgrow all of us!
I love these 4 people standing with me
with everything I am.

Here is my big guy with his awesome cake.

I hope your week has started off great!

I know I am blessed.

blessed is the people whose
God is the Lord.

I Choose Happy.

Another beautiful day.
Thankful for the weather.
I couldn't stand the thought of being inside
knowing this time next week will be chilly again!
So we did our handwriting on the concrete!
I told the kids to fill up the patio with
as many L's as they could!
Fun.

On another note:
I don't watch the news.
There are many reasons why I don't,
the main one being that the news is mostly
ugly, depressing, and scary.
I choose happy.

I didn't escape the news about the sweet girl, Hailey,
from Springfield, though.
I honestly do not know many of the details,
because I choose not to,
but I do know that it scares me.

All this made me talk to the kiddos today about strangers.
I stayed up late last night researching the best
ways to teach on this subject.
I didn't want to scare the kids,
but then again, I want them to be smart
and educated if something were to ever happen.
I kept it simple and I asked them a lot of
What should you do?
Should you do this?
Where should you go?
Who should you go to?
We even did some role playing.
The lesson was short and sweet,
but I feel they all were on board.
Thankfully all of them had heard
of strangers from their moms and dads,
which made the topic a lot less scary.

You  might ask them about it tonight
and add your own family's thoughts
on the subject.

We shouldn't live in fear.
God tells us not to.
Fear is the opposite of faith.
You cannot have faith if you are afraid.
We should arm ourselves with knowledge
and awareness, and most importantly,
arm ourselves with faith in our God.

This reminds me of two of my favorite verses
that I go to frequently:

A Little Monster Truck Talk.

We have missed Ms Yvonne!
With all the ice and snow,
it seemed like we hadn't seen her in ages!

Ms Yvonne requested that Eli & Evan
share their Monster Jam Experience
with the class this week.
They were happy to oblige.

Eli kept talking about them "flipping over".
Ms Yvonne just loved his story telling.

We had to make sure and get a Manners Lesson in, though.
Whining was the topic of the lesson today.

We looked up their awesome pictures of
the Monster Jam on Facebook
and talked about the ear muffs
and all the cool stuff that went with it.

It was a nice change of pace.
Great idea, Ms Yvonne!

Thanks for sharing your fun with us, Eli & Evan!

Clap your hands, all you nations;
Shout to God with cries of joy.

A Walk in the Park.

Awww.
You had to work today, too?
Behind a desk?
INSIDE?
Bummer.
This was my office today.

With some pretty great company.
Ahem.
I.Love.My.Job.

Oh yeah,
and we learned a bit today, too.

But worked on those oh-so-important
GROSS MOTOR SKILLS.

I hope you at least got to get out a little and enjoy this weather!

blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.
