Happy Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday Everyone! We have had a GREAT day!
Breakfast: Pop Tarts with a banana and milk
Lunch: Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches, Cheetos, Fresh Strawberries, and Cucumbers
Snack: Orange Sherbert Ice Cream and Animal Crackers

This week we are learning about CIRCLES and the color BLUE! We have been searching for circles and the color blue everywhere we turn! We read this really cool book that Geneva is holding:

The Race is the name of this cool book. It is the classic Tortoise and Hare book with a spin on it! The kids loved it! We went through the book as we read it and searched for the color blue and circles!

Then we went over to our work table and began tracing circles from things Miss Melea had laying around the preschool. This helps with eye hand coordination as well as learning shapes and colors. Here is Reese and Mattie working hard:

Lunch time is always one of the kids' favorite parts of the day! Here is some of the kids enjoying lunch:

So, last night my mom and I took our awesome crafts to the fair to enter them into the Kids Korner Exhibit- and it took FOREVER! There were so many coming to enter art work, crafts and different things- but I thought our display turned out pretty cute. What do you think?:

Thanks for joing us today! I would like to say a BIG Happy Birthday to Ms Vivian Holtkamp! She is the BIG 2 years old! And also want to say good-bye to Jossie and Sierra and wish them luck at their new school!

What's Your Name?

Our special helper today is SIERRA!!! Since we are learning about our names this week, I thought it would be appropriate to read books about animals or people that had particularly FUNNY names! Today we read about a dog named Widget who pretended to be a cat so that he could fool some fellow felines into accepting him into their home! The kids LOVED it! Here is Tatum holding the book:
We then had to go and find our paper on the table- then we began gluing beans in the shape of our names! We were so STINKIN' fast! Miss Melea was so proud of us! Here is Brayden working super hard on his paper:

Here is the finished project!

After class, we enjoyed some great outside play time! The sandbox is always a big hit! Here is Vivian dumping sand, unfortunately sometimes on her own head!!

Hudson was a little shy when I wanted to take his picture! But right before this he was so proud to show me the "tree" he had planted in the sand!

I think the most favorite spot on the whole playground is the swing set! We even have some "trick riders" here: Genenva and Jossie show us their skills!

We've had such a great day! Tomorrow we will begin working on our projects for the fair! You guys will go crazy when you see the finished project! They are pretty cute if I do say so myself!
Breakfast: Strawberry Muffins and Milk
Lunch: Hamburger Helper, Bread and Butter, Green Beans, and Peaches
Snack: Apple Slices and Peanut Butter with Milk

Welcome to Preschool, Levi and Trinity!

We are so happy to welcome Levi and Trinity! This is their first day at Giggles & Grins! So far I think they have had a wonderful day!
Breakfast: Cereal with milk, apple juice
Lunch: Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, wavy potato chips, carrot sticks with ranch dressing, and
applesauce
Snack: Teddy Grahams with chocolate milk
This is our first week back to SCHOOL! We always start off the year by learning our names. How to spell it, how to write it, how to recognize it, why we have it, etc. Today we started off by recognizing our names. In both classes (preschool and under 2's) we had a print out of each child's name and they had to go and pick their name. They all did very well! The under 2's will be working really hard on finding their names this week and learning how to spell it. Work with them at home too! The preschool class had a puzzle to do. I had each child's name printed on paper and I cut the letters out individually. They had to put each letter in order to spell their name! They did great! They loved the idea of it being a "puzzle"!! The preschool class then got some one on one time with Miss Melea as we practiced writing our names. After we finished up with our school work- we went outside for as long as we could stand it! Then we headed inside to cool off and play. Pretty soon, it was lunch time! The rest of the day is filled with rest time and play time!
We hope your day was as good as ours!
