Holy Moth Balls, Batman!

A promise is a promise!

Beckett brought THE coolest, HUGEST,
craziest big moth to school this week.
I, the frequently brainless teacher that I am,
didn't get a picture of him with it.
That is until it had no wings left!
I promised if he brought a new one,
I would do a WHOLE photo shoot and
blog post JUST especially for him and his moth!

And, HE DID!
Go Beckett!

The kids were pretty fascinated with it!

They had to be super careful,
"cause it might flied away" as Beckett put it.

He took really good care of this moth and his
smaller moth buddies.

I just love it when the kids bring different things like this
for the others to experience and explore.

It makes for an out of the ordinary day.
Sometimes that is just needed!
Thanks, Beckett for sharing!
You are great!

On that note,
I wanted to share a picture of my honeysuckle that
has went awol!

And it smells DELIGHTFUL!

Hope your day has been fantastic!
Tomorrow is FRIDAY!
Can I get an amen?
Whew.

Queens (or Kings) for the Day!

We are studying the letter Qq this week.
Q is a hard letter to find activities for.
:(
So, we focused on the word Queen today.
During Circle Time, we read the Nursery Rhyme,
The Queen and King of Hearts.
This neat book comes with a CD that puts
the rhymes to music.
We then looked up on my laptop
pictures of the current queen of England.
I think the kids had a different image
of what the Queen of England
was going to look like.
Needless to say, they were a little disappointed.
lol.
But then I showed them the picture of
the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Those images were a little more fitting!
Plus, I LOVE looking at the Royal Wedding Pictures!
Yes, I am one of THOSE people!
lol.

We then carefully crafted our very own Queens
or Kings crown.

They really enjoyed it!

Even the little guys worked super hard on theirs!

Sweet Adria just hung out and played with toys!
TA DA!

Now presenting:
Your Kings and Queens for the Day!

My apologies,
I forgot my camera at home!
So the pics are super blurry from
my phone's camera.
And,
I promised Beckett I would take a picture
with him and his awesomely
humongous moth that he had
brought to share,
but by the time I got to take the
picture, the moth had been played with
extra hard and its wings had been ripped off.
So sorry, Beckett!
If you find me another one, I will
dedicate the WHOLE post to you and your moth!
Boo for me.
Preschool Teacher fail # 609, 298.

We hope your day has been as "Royal" as ours!

Happy Earth Day!

Did you know that tomorrow is Earth Day?

A few years ago, I watched one of
Oprah's Earth Day episodes.
(Hey! Don't judge! Oprah had some good shows!:)
It was extremely eye opening.
Just watch this:

Ever since then, I have been aware.
Not perfect, but aware.
It seems like every year this day comes around
and it reminds me to take better care
of the place my grandbabies and great
grandbabies will be living in.

I found so many neat little ideas on Pinterest for Earth Day!
We started out with pancakes that looked like Planet Earth!

We read some great "Going Green" books!

And we talked about how important plants and trees are
to our planet. We put together a little science activity.
And of course I had to pretty it up a little bit
with a cute sign and bow!;)

We planted some seeds in some soil so the kids can watch it grow.

I explained the important factors for a plant to grow.
It needs soil, seed, water and sunshine.
And of course the only thing we were
missing today was the sunshine.
 *sigh*
I presented each child with their supplies
and we went through and explained each one.

They really enjoyed playing in the dirt!

A little dirt won't hurt, right?
What is that saying?
Boy: A Noise With Dirt On It.
So true!

I thought they turned out so cute?
Since they are in clear plastic cups
the kids can see the roots taking place, too.
I hope you parents enjoyed taking them home!

For snack we had the infamous Dirt Cake.
OMG!
DELISH!
All in honor of Earth Day!

This is just chocolate instant pudding,
cool whip, and crushed oreos
layered with gummy worms on top!
Mmmmm.

I had to serve it and get out quickly!
I did hear some lips smacking when I left!
I am pretty sure the kids enjoyed it!

This is why I had to rush out of work early:

One of my baby girls first proms!
Don't you LOVE her shoes?
Totally MY idea.
Yep, taking credit for that one.
Im not sure I could've paid her to wear heels!
She was invited to Kingston's prom.

BOTH of my baby girls will be
going to their Junior Prom tomorrow night.
I will for sure post pics on Monday of them!

Love her. She is beautiful inside and out.
Still cant believe they are so big.

Before you know it,
you will be snapping shots of your little ones..
before their Junior Prom.
*sniff, sniff*

Yay for Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday to you!

Our day has been full of fun!
We made PENGUINS today!

Before we started on our penguins, we read this cute little
book about how to play on the playground.
It had a cute little penguin with a whistle that
helped remind the animals how to play safe on the playground.

Here all my kiddos are with their penguins!

Tead and Cadyn brought a special treat
for the letter P!
Pictures of their PIGS!
They are raising piggies at their house!
Their pigs names are Ham & Bacon and Wilbur!
Too cute.
Love these kids.

It was another gorgeous day!
We spent alot of time outside playing
and getting dirty!
Cadyn and Gavin are big buds:

If you wanna find William,
he'll be in the sandbox!

Axton too.
Maybe even with their shoes off...
Sorry mommas about the sand.
But they love it!

Miss Adria was not feeling the camera this morning!
This is take #372!
lol.
Pretty girl.

Miss Vivi had a little splinter in her hand this morning.
We had to play "surgery" to get it out.
I bribed her and told her if she sat still and tough,
I would let her help me with lunch!
Well, that is JUST what she did!
And we even got the splinter out!

I think lunch turned out great!
Misti and I REALLY wanted some,
but we are trying to lose some of our
"extra padding" we have accumulated!

Our day was fantastic!
Hopefully yours was too!

P is for....

Another beautiful day!

We are learning about the letter P this week.
We started off with a really cute book
called If You Give a Pig a Pancake.
The kids pretty much giggles through the whole thing.

We then worked on a sound recognition worksheet.
We do this on Monday and all through the week the kids
can remember the pictures on it when asked what
words start with the letter P!

I love these pictures!
I love how they are serious about their work.
I told them that God tells us we should work,
then play.
That's what He did when he created the Earth.

The kids normally get a sticker and 5 skittles if they
work really hard during school time.
Roper did great today!
They ALL did great!
Good job, everyone!

Miss Misti's class made some really cute Piggies today!
So sweet.

Then it was outside to enjoy the sunshine!

Our day was great!
I hope yours was too!
