Germs & Picnics

We have some sickly kids around here.
Well, they aren't at school,
they are at home with a fever and a cough.
And so it begins.

I thought I had better get on the ball
and do a little lesson on GERMS.
Maybe it would help keep down the sickness
if I really put a lot of emphasis on it.
Maybe?

I feel like we TALK about it all the time.
"Don't put your fingers in your mouth."
"Don't chew on that toy."
"Cover your mouth when you cough!"
Blah, Blah, Blah.

I found our GERM book.
It is super cute.
The germs look like little monsters
and the whole book rhymes.

Then I found a couple of cute videos on youtube for
them to watch about germs and washing our hands.

(I really need to get a cord that adapts my laptop to my TV)

Then we practiced washing our hands...
CORRECTLY!

We sang "Happy Birthday"
as we did it.
Did you know that you should wash your hands for
20 seconds?
That is why we sang Happy Birthday.

We then colored a picture about washing our hands.

I gave the kids their dry erase boards
as their "desks".
I wanted to try doing our coloring this way.

I was hoping it would make them ENJOY coloring.
Not so much.
This little group isn't a fan.
I am wondering if it is because it is
8 boys to 2 girls?

Who knows.
But it didn't really make them want to color
anymore than normal.
lol.
Figures.
It was worth the try.

I just love their little hands and the seriousness
on their little faces when they are working.
Adorable!

Misti took some shots of her little ones outside
while we were doing our work:
Miss Brooklyn..
Mr. Eli:
Miss Emmalyn:
Miss Tayleigh:
They played hard today!

To round out a great morning,
we had a PICNIC!
We just love picnics around here!

We had ham & cheese sandwiches on wheat bread,
Doritos, oranges, and broccoli with ranch dressing.
Perfect picnic food!

Yummy in my tummy.

Sweeties.

Big Boy Table.

And, no, not a whole lot ate their broccoli either.
Oh well.
I try.
;)

We hope your day was WONDERFUL!
Ours sure was!

With Love,
Ms Melea
