What an AWESOME day!

Our day has been wonderful!
The weather is unbelievable!
66 degrees on January 6th?
I will take it!

I had a special surprise for my class today.
Tead and Cadyn's mom had donated a
HUGE tote full of craft items that, I believe, came
from her church's VBS.
In that tote, there were little flashlights!
Just enough for my kiddos!
A big thank you to her!
Flashlight starts with the letter F!

We first talked about our flashlights.
What do they do?
Why do you think they are called flashlights?
Why would we use a flashlight?
etc.

Then I had each child stand up
and tell 2 things about their flashlight.
It could be the color, or something you like
about it, or even a cool story about a
flashlight. They did this so well!

We then went into my office,
where there are no windows and no way
for light to get in.
They all piled on the couch with their flashights.
I had them look around the room with the
light on. I then turned the light off and had them shine
their flashlight on an object I yelled out!
This was a BLAST!
They didn't want to stop playing it!

After that, we did the rest of our one on one work.
Then it was OUTSIDE we go!
I want this weather all year!
Ms Misti took some great pictures of the kids playing:

I had a fun treat for lunch.
We got to make our own plates!
The kids were able to build their own sandwiches,
pour their own ranch dressing,
and even scoop out their own applesauce!

I was proud of them!

Only a few accidentally poured the WHOLE bottle
of ranch dressing on their plate!
lol.
No big deal.
That's what spoons are for.

They thought this was just pretty cool.

So fun.

Even the little guys did it!
I didn't get all their picures because I had to go
outside with my kids....

Then it was PICNIC time!

We LOVE picnics!

Especially in January!

So.much.fun.

The wind blew up, so Gavin and Eli needed their hoods on.
I thought they looked so cute with Doritos on their faces!

Sweet babies.

Got ranch?

Dane eating his BROCCOLI!
I am so impressed by how many kids actually eat
BROCCOLI!
Great job moms and dads!

Make sure and get every last bite.

Sweet Cadyn.

Days like today remind of why I do this.

You might take the time to look back at the blog's
archives. I scanned through the other day.
You wouldn't believe how these kids have
changed in a year! You will get
a kick out of it!

Oh yeah....
GO HOGS!
WPS!
I hope you all have plans to watch the big
HOGS game tonight!
I believe someone told me it is playing on
FOX at 7pm.
We will be watching with some sweet friends.
Have a WONDERFUL weekend!

With Love,
Ms Melea
