Yay for Tuesday!

We have had an excellent day!

We are learning about the letter G and the
number 7 this week.

During class time, we worked on some
letter cards. These are cards that the kids
have to color and cut out.
Each card has a picture of something that starts
with the letter G.
I am really impressed on how good the
kids are cutting! Are you all working at home?
It sure seems like it!
Great job kids!

We also talked about how the letter G
was one of those "special" letters.
It can say TWO sounds!

We read the Gingerbread Cowboy.
I love books on tape!
Especially today.
I am a little under the weather,
so not having to talk that much more
makes a big difference.
Plus, the tape has cool sound effects!

Then we went outside!
The weather channel said that it was 42 degrees,
but it sure seemed warmer than that?
We had a great time letting off some energy!

I rounded up the little ones to go outside too!
It was so cute,
I told them all to line up on the wall
so I could get their picture.
They did so good!
Even Gavin went right over and sat down in line!

Doesn't Gavin look so big in this picture?
I love it!

I felt like it was long over do,
but Adria and I had a little photo shoot!
I felt like everytime I would go to take the pictures
for the blog, she would be snoozing.
So I made sure and take PLENTY today!
Isn't she gorgeous?

She is as sweet as she is pretty.

I just love her little outfit!
Those tights are precious!

What an AWESOME day!

Our day has been wonderful!
The weather is unbelievable!
66 degrees on January 6th?
I will take it!

I had a special surprise for my class today.
Tead and Cadyn's mom had donated a
HUGE tote full of craft items that, I believe, came
from her church's VBS.
In that tote, there were little flashlights!
Just enough for my kiddos!
A big thank you to her!
Flashlight starts with the letter F!

We first talked about our flashlights.
What do they do?
Why do you think they are called flashlights?
Why would we use a flashlight?
etc.

Then I had each child stand up
and tell 2 things about their flashlight.
It could be the color, or something you like
about it, or even a cool story about a
flashlight. They did this so well!

We then went into my office,
where there are no windows and no way
for light to get in.
They all piled on the couch with their flashights.
I had them look around the room with the
light on. I then turned the light off and had them shine
their flashlight on an object I yelled out!
This was a BLAST!
They didn't want to stop playing it!

After that, we did the rest of our one on one work.
Then it was OUTSIDE we go!
I want this weather all year!
Ms Misti took some great pictures of the kids playing:

I had a fun treat for lunch.
We got to make our own plates!
The kids were able to build their own sandwiches,
pour their own ranch dressing,
and even scoop out their own applesauce!

I was proud of them!

Only a few accidentally poured the WHOLE bottle
of ranch dressing on their plate!
lol.
No big deal.
That's what spoons are for.

They thought this was just pretty cool.

So fun.

Even the little guys did it!
I didn't get all their picures because I had to go
outside with my kids....

Then it was PICNIC time!

We LOVE picnics!

Especially in January!

So.much.fun.

The wind blew up, so Gavin and Eli needed their hoods on.
I thought they looked so cute with Doritos on their faces!

Sweet babies.

Got ranch?

Dane eating his BROCCOLI!
I am so impressed by how many kids actually eat
BROCCOLI!
Great job moms and dads!

Make sure and get every last bite.

Sweet Cadyn.

Days like today remind of why I do this.

You might take the time to look back at the blog's
archives. I scanned through the other day.
You wouldn't believe how these kids have
changed in a year! You will get
a kick out of it!

Oh yeah....
GO HOGS!
WPS!
I hope you all have plans to watch the big
HOGS game tonight!
I believe someone told me it is playing on
FOX at 7pm.
We will be watching with some sweet friends.
Have a WONDERFUL weekend!

Zzzzzz....

If you have ever worked with children,
then you know that it is NOT always a glamorous job.

When there is a child involved who knows what
the day brings!  I had a glorious day planned today.
As the day began, I saw that my plans were going to be
changed slightly by the mood of the kids.
Hey-
It happens.
Some days are spent reading, writing, and playing.
Some days are spent with more holding, rocking, and loving.
And honestly,
some days I feel more like a referee!
lol.

Needless to say,
this is the only picture I got for today!

Only half the children were able to do their
handwriting and one on one work.
It came to a point where I just said,
Let's get outside!
The others can do their work tomorrow!

I am a firm believer that when God gives us a beautiful day
like today....kids need to be outside!
I think they felt that too!
We hope your day was wonderful!

F is for FISH!

Happy New Year!
I can't beieve it is 2012!
It is so crazy to say that year!

Thank you for being so patient with
me while I was on
"blog-cation"!
I am finding it harder and harder to
find the time to blog lately!

Anywho- about our day:
We are learning the letter F and the # 6 this week!

Here are the kids with their fish they made:

Cutting is always a hard task to master.

I thought they did great!

They always work so hard to get it perfect.

Love these crazy kids!

Grady working away...

Emma too...

Pretty fish.

These 3 giggled and giggled and giggled.

I couldn't hardly get a picture of them
because they were laughing so much!

I love their little laughs!

This is the craft the little guys are working
on this week! Isn't it cute?
Ms Kathy found this idea!
I loved it!
This particular fish belongs to Axton.

Gavin sure was in a good mood today!
Miss Adria and I need to swap schedules.
She was either sleeping or trying to go to sleep
the 2 times I went up to get a picture!
So, here is one of my favorite pictures of her!

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year and Christmas!
I have many New Year's Resolutions that I
am working on.
I am hoping to at least last through January!
lol!
One of them is to start my own personal blog
for my family. When I get started on that,
I will be sure to let you know!

Ms Melea
