Last Day of Summer? Say it Ain't So!

Hello!
It's us again!

I wanted to brag about the book I
FINALLY purchased!
I have been wanting this book written
by the Pioneer Woman,
Ree Drummond..
It even came with the CD that SHE
narrates herself about her dog, Charlie!
It is an adorable book.
It makes me want to write a series on
our very own, Shasta!
Hmm. Something to think about.
Ms Yvonne decided to stay in where it
was dry this morning, so
we had to change our plans a bit!
We decided to practice our letter
 Aa and number 1 using
SHAVING CREAM
again! So fun!

Gavin asked everyone if they knew who
"Daniel Son" was,
"you know, from Karate Kid"
Lol.
He showed us some of Daniel Son's moves
in the shave cream.
Hiiiii Yaaa!

We decided to do the shaving cream in our
bathing suits because I figured it would
be easier to clean up outside with the hose
rather than in the kitchen sink.
I told the kids that God gave us a treat today!
He turned on his sprinkler!
They loved playing in the rain!
Plus, I am thinking today might be our last hot day!
I am looking forward to some cooler temps!

Adria didn't last too long.
She was a little chilly.
She sat under the covered porch with me!

Then Eli joined us for a bit, as well.
Sweet kiddos.

I am feeling better, for those that have asked.
I took a Benadryl last night and caught a
few needed ZZZZZZ's.
I'm not at 100%,
but not much can keep me down!

Have a splendid afternoon!

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love...

Monday and a little Tuesday.

Good Afternoon!
I hope you guys are having a great day!
We are!
I am feeling a bit yucky for some reason.
Sinus or cold or something.
I am hoping I can get a better night's sleep tonight.
I can't chase these kiddos around on 4 hours of sleep!!
No siree.

Yesterday was our first day of learning
our Alphabet.
The letter Aa was introduced.

We had a lengthy story and circle time
discussing and introducing our new letter.
We then did a little writing worksheet.
I promised the kiddos if they
focused on their work and completed
it, I had a BIG surprise for them!

Great Work!
I had to pay up on my surprise!

THE PARK!
Woo hoo!
The weather was great on the walk down.
In another hour it became pretty humid.
We were glad to get back to the air conditioning!
But it was totally worth it!
Check out all our fun:

I want to take the time to thank some pretty special people!
In the last week or two, we have had some pretty great
donations from some extremely thoughtful people!

Misti Plumlee and Debra Deatherage donated a ton of
wonderful books!
It was fun looking through them all!

And Mrs Nancy Smith, our neighbor from the old preschool, showed up with
her trunk full of these beauties:

I am thinking there will be some painting involved when I kick this
yucky cold!!
You guys are AWESOME! Thank you so much for thinking of us!

Today was all about handwriting. I took the kids one at a time
and reviewed with them the letter Aa and the #1.

They do so well when it is just me and them.

The UPS man brought this today! It seems like Christmas!!

Oh, and the hubby and I had a date Saturday night. It was so nice.
I love him. He spoils me rotten and would literally do ANYTHING for me
and our kiddos. Lucky girl.

Lastly, you know, I am assuming I am not the only one that gets so
bombarded with "life" that I put more important things on the back burner.
No more. We, especially mommas, HAVE to take care of ourselves. Not just
our physical bodies, but mentally and emotionally as well. We have to be healthy in
every aspect to be able to care for our families. So, there is some major prioritizing
going on 'round here. This is where it begins:

With all this said, I love how God works. My devotional had this verse on yesterday's page:

To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven;.... a time to break down and a time to build up......a time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together,... a time to get and a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to cast away.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-6

Friday Already?

Is it just me, or has this week FLOWN by!?

Not that I am complaining, but I didn't
get everything on my "list" accomplished....
Like, blogging for the whole week!

Preschool teacher fail #3,214,987.
Not that I keep tabs on that. Wink.

I did take some pictures.
That counts, right?

This week, we are reviewing our shapes.
We normally spend a week per shape,
but these kids are pure geniuses!
We are just spending a week on ALL the shapes.

We played lots of games:

I got all the flash cards and the kids picked partners
to go over flashcards during free time.
They were so funny acting like Mrs Melea!

Mrs Yvonne was back for our Manner's Class!
We were so happy to see her!
I think she was happy to be back!

We practiced writing our shapes outside on the concrete.
Let me tell you, those octagons
are boogers to draw!
Sheesh!

Today we had a little "test".
They had to write their name, then
they had to name all the shapes
and then find the shape that I named.
Easy peasy.

In other news:
 Axton turned 5 this week!
Wait....What?!
FIVE?
Sigh.
Not possible.
Handsome guy.

By the way,
my new kids are adjusting well!
Sometimes, we do have a case of the
 "mommies"
in the morning, but usually we are laughing
and smiling before momma gets to the end
of the drive.
We make sure and send a
picture to mom so she knows her baby is happy.

Hayden came to visit a couple of times
since he started kindergarten!
Can you tell how much we missed him?
lol.

I saw this pin the other day.
 I loved it.
I thought I would share.

My baby boy and the Jr High Tigers started their season!
I love watching this boy carry that football!

Kaitlin and Kodee are back to their
college classes and are starting
practice with their new team!
They are going to rock their last year at
Northark!
Lastly, you should totally
check out my friend, Amy, and I's
new business!
The Craftsy Chicks are opening
September 27th and 28th!
Class Registration opens TOMORROW!

Here is our first round of projects:
These are all projects you can make
and take home!
We plan to offer private parties
and take personalized orders!
Lots more ideas up our sleeves!
We are so excited and would love
for you to join us for one of our
Craftsy Classes at the Henhouse!

He is my loving God and my fortress,
my stronghold and my deliverer,
my shield, in whom I take refuge,
who subdues people under me.
